Port Blair, April 3: The field of medicine has made a lot of progress over the years but menstrual health is one aspect that continues to be side-lined. The importance of menstrual health is grossly undermined because of the social norms and associated stigma. Because it is less talked about, there is less awareness on the importance of having a good menstrual health and maintaining menstrual hygiene practices which in turn results in several health issues. To address this, a team of 7 MBBS Students from Batch 2019 at ANIIMS conducted a health education session on “Menstrual Health and Hygiene – Let’s Talk!” in Government Senior Secondary School at Manglutan, led by Dr. Priyanka Yadav, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Community Medicine, with the support of Dr. Vivin Vincent, HOD and Dr. Pragya Sharma, Director ANIIMS.

Port Blair, April 3: A male patient namely Shri Jayanto Biswas, S/o Nimai Biswas, aged about 26 yrs, R/o Baroodh Godown, Port Blair, South Andaman expired on March 27, 2023 at GB Pant Hospital. The dead body of the deceased has been kept in the cold mortuary of the GB Pant Hospital, Port Blair. No relatives or persons known to him has come forward to claim the dead body. If no persons/ relatives come forward to claim the aforesaid dead body within 7 days from the publication, the Medical Superintendent, GB Pant Hospital, Port Blair shall have liberty to dispose of the aforesaid dead body without any further notice.

Port Blair, April 1: A 70-year-old male (name kept anonymous for patient privacy) presented with vague abdominal pain and weight loss. He was evaluated with CECT scan of abdomen which revealed cancer of right kidney. Considering the older age and major operation, Cardiologist and Physician consultation was taken and anesthesiology fitness was obtained for the procedure.
